Daina Bouquin

Daina is Head Librarian at the Center for Astrophysics where she holds separate appointments with both both the Harvard College Observatory and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. Daina directs all library operations and manages the library's finances, services, resources, and subscription agreements. She also defines library policies and sets the division's long and short term priorities. Daina's goal is to build a library in collaboration with the Astronomy community that meets astronomers' changing needs and ensures long-term access to their scientific legacy. Daina’s current research projects focus on preservation and attribution of scientific software, as well as creating adaptive metadata infrastructure for digital objects and hardware from satellite missions. Her work generally aims to facilitate open science while connecting people with historical and contemporary research artifacts.
